Two high-speed axial flow fans for two wind tunnels

Two high-speed axial flow fans for two wind tunnels

The axial fan consists of a propeller type impeller, motor driven and ducted or shrouded so that the blades are enclosed to increase operating efficiency.

The device is for the Supply and Delivery of High-Speed Axial Flow Fans for Wind Tunnel for the University of Malta.

The ducted multi-bladed axial air fan is required for subsonic wind tunnel:

Fan A: this fan is required for a wind tunnel having a test section cross sectional area that measures 1.6m X 1.8m. The test section speed required will vary from a minimum of 1.5m/s to a maximum of 18m/s. The corresponding maximum pressure drop in the tunnel, corresponding to the maximum velocity, is expected to be 1.9 inches (0.048 m) of water. The low-speed wind tunnel will be an atmospheric boundary layer type wind tunnel and will be used for applications related to wind engineering and low speed aerodynamics.

Fan B: this fan is required for a closed-circuit wind tunnel having a test section cross sectional area that measures 1.0m X 1.0m. The test section speed required will vary from a minimum of 1.5m/s to a maximum of 30m/s. The corresponding maximum pressure drop in the tunnel, corresponding to the maximum velocity, is expected to be 1.5 inches (0.038 m) of water. The low-speed wind tunnel will be closed-circuit type wind tunnel and will be used to study incompressible air flows over different devices.
