Laboratory tasks for teaching
The laboratory equipment is designed to measure the magnitude of local and frictional losses in a sealed pipe during water flow. The water flow through the line is measured by a small flow meter. The value of the actual flow rate is shown on the display provided, located on a panel next to the piezometric tubes.
The water source for the measuring line is a circular transparent vessel with a diameter of 400 mm and a height of 600 mm. The vessel is kept at a constant level by means of an overflow. The inlet to the overflow shall be 500 mm above the bottom of the vessel and shall be provided with an anuloid for the continuous flow of water into the overflow. The overflow outlets into the storage tank. The vessel is filled with water by a pump from a storage tank located below the measuring line. The tank is plastic with a capacity of 40 litres of water. The tank is equipped with filling and draining valves. The tank is equipped with a drain valve. A measuring line is inserted into the vessel at a height of 100 mm above the bottom.
